The LPTexas state convention was executed successfully in Big Spring and adjourned Sunday evening. A new slate of officers has been elected:

Bekah Congdon, Vice-Chair
Stephanie Weiss, Secretary
Kate Prather, Treasurer
Many of you will know Bekah, as she has served two terms as Secretary and a term as Chair for LPBexar. LPBexar looks forward to continuing to work with LPTexas in the fight for liberty.
We also have several local party members that have now been elected as part of the State Level Executive Committee:

Tony Valdivia (LPBexar Vice Chair)
Arthur Thomas IV (LPBexar Historian)
Shawn Huckabay (LPBexar Chair)

State Convention City & Location Change
A SLEC vote has passed to move the LPTexas state convention from McAllen to Big Spring. Specifically, the convention will now be held in the Big Spring Municipal Auditorium:

Big Spring, TX 79720
Note that this is not near McAllen. This is a completely different location in Texas.
This occurred because circumstances related to COVID-19 forced the city of McAllen to cancel our convention there.
**Have the convention dates changed?**
No. The convention is still happening the weekend of August 1st, with the business meeting on the 1st and 2nd.
**What do I need to do?**
You should cancel any hotel reservations in McAllen and plan to attend an in-person convention in Big Spring instead. It still remains to be seen whether we'll be able to obtain special hotel rates with local hotels, but rates for the city are generally very good regardless, so we advise getting a hotel room and other accommodations in place ASAP.
